Registration fees vary depending on whether the horse is imported, has verified parentage etc.

Registration Fees

1. For horses with verified parentage (via MHAA Stallion return or DNA).
    Both parents must be registered MHAA (excluding international horses).
    These fees are doubled for international horses.

2. For horses with verified parentage (via MHAA Stallion return or DNA).
    Both parents must be registered MHAA.
    Not foal recorded with MHAA.

3. For horses without verified parentage.
    Registered with another recognised society (AMPS or APSB only)

4. For horses without verified parentage and not registered with another society.      Parentage will be recorded as 'Unknown'.
    Veterinary certificate of soundness required for all horses.

Transfer and lease fee

Reinstatement fees

If secretary receives paperwork that is incomplete and requires a request for further information, an $11.00 (inc. GST) fee will be charged each time a request is made. Please ensure that paperwork is fully completed and correct.

Joint ownership - In the event of the death of one owner, ownership shall pass to the surviving owner.

Tenants in common - Ownership shall be determined by the deceased owners will.

Micro chipping

Due to requirements for registration contained in the MHAA Constitution the following procedure applies as of 1/1/06:

1. Obtain the official MHAA Microchip Request Form from the National Office or download it from the forms page. You will need a separate form for each horse you are micro chipping
2. Contact your Vet and arrange for a universal microchip to be implanted and for the VET to complete all details indicated on the Microchip Registration Form before signing.
3. Make a photocopy of the signed Microchip Registration Form and registration application before posting both back to National Office. This form, when received will confirm that the microchip has actually been implanted thus identifying your horse and registration will be processed and marked accordingly.

Important points to remember:

1. Microchip Registration Forms not signed by a qualified Veterinarian will not be accepted by MHAA Inc.
2. A universal microchip reader will be supplied for use at the National Show.

Imported horses must be micro chipped to comply with MHAA Inc. Constitution.
